Hey,
Yep. I'm just a little embarrassed. If you were in your emails last night and opened the one from me, you'll probably know why.
It was a human error caused by someone I should never have trusted with the task of representing me in the first place.
That's on me. I didn't do enough due diligence.
Which kinda brings up an interesting podcasting point, actually...
Are you following "The Podmaster"?
Are you a passenger with your own podcast?
Outsourcing a podcast is, on paper at least, one of the easiest things you can do.
Let's face it, there's no shortage of editors offering to chop up your audio for you.
If you've published more than a few episodes, you will by now have been approached by one of the so-called 'expert promoters' in your inbox.
And there are more video clip services than there are podcasts to clip, now.
But how do you know which of these services and practitioners to outsource to?
Fiverr podcast editors
No doubt you'll have come across what I'd call the Fiverr standard of podcast editors. They're usually offering too-good-to-resist pricing.
And their turnaround times are 'aight' - maybe a day or two.
So should you hire them?
Well here's the question you need to ask.
Are you doing your podcast for branding purposes, or are you actually wanting to use it to help you sell services or products?
If it's the former, have at it with your budget production.
But if it's the latter, here's the cold, hard inconvenient truth.
They're never going to help you get results from your podcast.
Your podcast is, to them, merely one of many assignments they have piling up on their to do list. They'll do the bare basics, and fulfil your brief.
What they won't do is:
Guide you on how to create more engaging content
Throw in some creativity to make the audio 'pop'
Produce you so you sound the best you possibly can, suggesting retakes or lines you need to throw in to complete a thought or clarify an offer
And that brings me to my next point...
Psst! Need help with something specific? You can now 'pick my brain' for a price of your own choosing that you feel is appropriate.
Once you've paid, you'll be presented with a calendar to book your slot.
This will be a 15 minute call initially, but if yours is a more complex challenge that I can't help you solve without a little more in depth investigation, I'll arrange a follow up with you at no extra charge.
