Hey,
Is there something in your industry which people take for granted as really easy to do, even though you know their approach means certain disaster?
Yesterday, I was listening to a digital marketing company's podcast, and their dingbat CEO made a comment about how 'low barrier to entry' podcasting is. He said you can literally chat into your phone, and you've got yourself a podcast.
Well, while that's strictly true, it's also a massive lie.
Using your phone is not be the best approach if you're serious about creating top-notch content.
I made a ranty post about this on LinkedIn yesterday and most of my industry peers seemed to be on board with my being incensed.
Here’s a quick summary of why this podcast was dishing out really bad advice:
Why Using Your Phone Isn't Ideal
- Phone mics can't compete with dedicated podcasting equipment. You'll often encounter issues like plosives and background noise.
- Advanced features like auto-ducking and multitrack editing aren't available on phone recording apps.
So what should you use instead?
Are you following "The Podmaster"?
I'm really glad you asked.
I actually wrote an article about it.
You can read it here.
Seriously, when it comes to all aspects of podcast marketing, investing in the right equipment and software is crucial if you want your podcast to stand out and attract a loyal audience.
It’s worth the effort!
